The Colombian champion was a special guest at one of the most unique Red Bull events in the world, the Mini Drome, a competeition quere cyclist take their skills to the smallest track ever build.  This time Mariana was only a spectator, and just as the other 400 plus present, she was impressed by the speed riders can reach in such a reduced space.  The winner in the end was Antioquia Native Carlos Oquendo.

The Red Bull Mini Drome had already experienced great success in other major cities, and Medellín was no exception.  As expected, the crowd was wild and early in the morning 50 athletes, who had been participated in other Latin American cities such as Santiago, Guadalajara, Bogota, and Medellín signed up with their iron horses hoping to shine in the mini drome.  They all had great connection with the fans, and showed their utmost concentración, technique, and abilities which kept falls at a minimum.

After a long battle, the final was set for the hometown favorite Oquendo, and Mexico City Velodrome Champion Vicente Chetto.  The Colombian confessed after the competition that, "My first feeling was dizziness because on the second or third lap you start to get very tired and dizzy from going around in circles, but it is a very cool event and the most important thing is that we were able to practice our sport in peace".

Long into the night and with a new champion, celebration began with Red Bull spraying all around the podium.  "It is a unique and difficult competition for competitors, but it is very exciting for the fans", added Mariana, who felt awkward to not be on that podium as she is used to.
