The Colombian once again gave her country a bit of glory by winning the gold in the Panamerican Games.  Mariana was able to overcome all her opponents and win her second important title of the season along with the World Cup in Denmark.  With her win, Colombia now has eight gold medals and shares dominance of the sport with the United States.

At just 19 years old, Pajon is now Panamerican, South American, Central American, and World Champion in the elite category.  Her time in the final was 40.118 seconds.

"It's very exciting for me.  I have prepared very well to reach this goal and now my objective is winning the London Olympics to complete the cycle with only gold medals".  The Colombian won the race over American Arielle Martin and Argentine Maria Gabriela Diaz with relative ease by winning all of her qualifying races and taking a 2 second cushion to the finish in the final.

After wins in all her olympic cycle competitions, Mariana will now concentrate on the mother of all medals, the 2012 London Olympics.
